Research on the Rational Working System of Electric Heating Technology for Wax Removal Applied in Transition Zone Blocks

There are three problems in S oilfield transition zone blocks: poor stratigraphic conditions, poor crude oil physical properties, and insufficient hot washing resources. These issues lead to easy wax formation and frequent rod lag of oil wells in this block. S oilfield implemented large-scale electric heating clearing and anti-waxing technology, which ensures the normal production of oil wells in the transition zone area. However, during the initial production of oil wells, the electric heating device operated at high power 24 h a day, with a single well consuming up to 696 kWh per day. The annual power consumption of all electric heating operations amounted to tens of millions of yuan. Responding to the call to reduce production and operational costs while saving energy, a study was conducted on establishing a reasonable working system for electric heating technology. Firstly, by analyzing the influencing factors of the heating effect and applying the theory of wellbore heat transfer model, the expected power of the electric heating device is established based on the relationship curve of submergence degrees. Calculations were made to establish the power requirements and running time necessary to achieve objectives, thereby creating a template for the work system. By adapting the actual working conditions of machine mining wells and setting up a reasonable working system, field operations became more manageable. Following the adjustment of the electric heating operation system, the energy consumption of each well decreased by 38%, successfully implementing energy-saving operations for high power-consuming equipment.
