Research and Application of Pre-CO2 Energy Storage Fracturing Technology in Ultra-Low Permeability Reservoirs

In order to solve the difficulties in the development challenges of poor physical properties, insufficient formation energy, and poor effectiveness of conventional fracturing measures in ultra-low permeability reservoirs in the Ordos Basin, and combining volume fracturing with carbon dioxide oil displacement technique at first, and the research of carbon dioxide precharged volume fracturing to increase production. The result shows that: ① the technique can effectively improve the volume of flowing crude oil. Its main mechanisms is Matrix extraction, crude oil swelling and viscosity reduction, and fracture diversion; ② The practical applications include the use of pre-fracturing gel to control water content, supplementing energy with pre-injected CO2, and implementing multi-stage temporary plugging during the fracturing process for fracture expansion; ③ From the perspective of practical application effects, this technology has a higher increase in production (oil increase of 2.4 t/d), which is 3.0 times that of conventional fracturing measures, while maintaining stable water content. The pre-CO2 energy replenishment fracturing technology has many advantages, such as energy replenishment after pressure, small reservoir damage, effective expansion of fracture network, and high single well production increase. And solved development problems such as insufficient energy in ultra-low permeability reservoirs, single production technology, and poor measures effectiveness. The technique provides technology provide new ideas and on-site application examples for the effective development of billions of tons of difficult to produce reserves in ultra-low permeability reservoirs in the Ordos Basin.
