Blockchain and Agriculture: A Unified Solution for Seamless Food Supply Chain Management
摘要
The supply chain serves as the vital link connecting each stage of production and distribution, bridging the gap between raw materials and the final consumer. In rural regions, agriculture stands as the most crucial industry, employing 70% of the world’s poor; however, it also faces the most significant disparity between producers and consumers. Regrettably, the lack of transparency in this sector raises doubts among buyers and customers about the true value of products and services, making it challenging to trace responsibility for any wrong-doings that occur. These difficulties further contribute to pervasive global issues such as counterfeiting, forced labor, and substandard working conditions that continue to afflict our world today. To address these problems, establishing a more direct connection with consumers could lead to fair compensation for agricultural producers, and retailers can ensure they receive what they rightfully paid for.
