CFD Simulation of Temperature and Airflow Distribution of the HVAC System in a Passenger Train
摘要
The air conditioning and ventilation system create a comfortable feeling for passengers on the train. However, when the air supply on the carriage is non-uniform, it may create extreme discomfort for passengers. With the application of the CFD simulation, this study analyzes the airflow distribution system and proposes solutions to improve air distribution. Simulation results show that with the old-designed air duct, the passenger compartment area near the indoor unit receives the most negligible airflow, and the maldistribution of airflow might be up to 60%. The study proposed a solution to use air valves to adjust the flow to the compartments, resulting in a 26% reduction in error compared to the old design and a more uniform temperature between the compartments.
