This study examines the factors that influence the choice of parking lots among residents and tourists in Danang City. Data were collected through structured questionnaires targeting local commuters and visitors to capture their parking experiences and preferences. The analysis used a multinomial logit model to identify the relationships between independent variables (socioeconomic factors, travel behaviour, and parking fee) and the dependent variable (parking lot choice). We identified two types of drivers, car and motorcycle drivers, and their decision to choose four legal types of parking: parking in facilities, on-street parking, public parking, and illegal parking. This study provides valuable insights for urban planners and policymakers to improve parking infrastructure and management. By understanding the key determinants of parking lot choice, local authorities can design better parking solutions that meet the needs of both residents and tourists, ultimately enhancing urban mobility and satisfaction.
