Based on my experience as a doctoral and post-doctoral research in Catholic Education in Ireland within the last fifteen years, this chapter offers personal insights into my development as a Catholic researcher in education. These insights may be of benefit to current and emergent researchers in Catholic education and related areas. They also assist in my own professional development as a lifelong learner. Throughout the chapter, I provide reflective commentary on key aspects of the research process from identifying the research question, conducting the literature review, choosing and implementing the research methodology, analysing data and disseminating findings. I compare and contrast this process in the two contexts of doctoral and post-doctoral research. The chapter concludes with my offering of the characteristics that I consider identify me as a Catholic researcher in education.
