The contribution of Dr. Amarjit Singh in the progress of science and technology in India is presented. The President of India conferred the Padma Bhusan award on him. He served as the Director, CSIR-CEERI, Pilani for about quarter of a century, by far the longest period in the history of CEERI. His early education, higher education, and professional career are discussed.
