A pulsed power (6.2 MW) S-band klystron is being developed at CSIR-CEERI for its intended use as a high power RF source in an industrial linear accelerator. The present paper shall discuss different technological aspects involved in the design and development of an electromagnet suitable for this klystron. The simulation results for optimization of the magnetic field required for focusing of the electron beam using TRAK and CST Studio Suite will be covered. The desired electromagnet has been fabricated and being tested now. The development steps for fabrication of the desired electromagnet along with few test results for its magnetic field characterization will also be presented through this paper.
