Microwave Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) resonators have emerged as key components in the field of Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics (CQED) based quantum information processing. Present study explores the effect of external couplings on resonant frequency and quality factor of half-wavelength (λ/2) CPW resonator. Electromagnetic simulations have been performed to design several λ/2 CPW resonators with fundamental frequencies ranging from 2 to 8 GHz, and quality factors due to coupling ranging from a few hundred to several thousand. Simulations have been carried out for various geometry of input and output coupling capacitors. The results presented in the paper will be helpful in designing CPW resonators with specific operating parameters for CQED experiments.

摘要
