Recent Advancements in Bioactivity of Imidazole–Imidazolium-Based Metal Complexes Against Pathogenic Fungi
摘要
Fungal infections are very common but sometimes lethal for human beings. Various somber contagions and mortal cellular disorders caused by many microbes are harming global health and economy. Scientific workers and chemical experts are challenged stanchly to manage and trounce these fatal tribulations right through the humankind. Therapeutic researchers are in unremitting explore for the more effectual and less noxious molecules to be used as an accurate bludgeon against many fatal ailments since a long time. Among various classes of drug molecules, heterocyclic imidazole/imidazolium moieties play a significant role. In hope of increasing drug potential imidazole/imidazolium moieties have been extensively applied to prepare metal-based drugs specially coordination complexes, and fortunately many researchers have developed many imidazole/imidazolium metal complexes with improved biological potential than these heterocycles in non-coordinated state. d-block elements have been mostly experimented successfully for the coordination with stated heterocyclic compounds to yield bioactive metal complexes possessing astounding antifungal behavior also against those factors which even get resistance for routine antifungal medicines. Such the incredible biological potential as an antifungal metallic moiety incited the authors to place a straight-line investigated assessment on the metallic moieties ligated with stated hetero donor organic moieties accentuated on antifungal performance facing toward global academicians and industrialists dealing with antifungal agents affecting human beings.
