Experimental Research and Application of Low Initial Viscosity Gel Profile Control System in X Block

When polymer flooding is transferred to the subsequent water flooding development stage, the overall development benefit becomes worse due to the existence of inefficient circulation bands between oil and water wells. Polymer gel profile control technology can effectively control the dominant seepage channel of water flow and improve oil recovery. Low initial viscosity gel profile control agent is a new type of gel profile control agent. The initial viscosity of the gel system is < 20 mPa s, the viscosity within 10–30 days is < 300 mPa s, and the adhesive formation viscosity is more than 2000 mPa s. Compared with conventional gel profile control agents, it has the characteristics of low initial viscosity and artificially controllable adhesive formation time, which can realize the deep sealing of oil reservoir. This technology is applied to block X, and the field test results show that the high permeability reservoir is effectively blocked and the inefficient and ineffective circulation is controlled. After the application of this technology, 2.082 × 104 m3 of water has been saved and 0.066 × 104 t of oil has been added, achieving the goal of water control and oil increase.
