In order to improve the effect of late stage of cyclic steam injection in shallow bottom water ordinary heavy oil reservoirs, numerical simulation methods are adopted to clarify the interaction mechanism of gravity and driving force in the process of steam injection and replacement in the reservoir, and cubic well network for oil displacement technology is proposed (Fang et al. in Broken Block Oil Gas Field 29:378–382 + 389, 2022 [1]; Wang et al. in Xinjiang Oil Gas 16:47–53 + 6–7, 2020 [2]; Zhao et al. in Specialty Oil Gas Reservoirs 29:98–103, 2022 [3]; Ba et al. in Special Oil Gas Reservoir 24:133–137, 2017 [4]; Wei in Specialty Oil Gas Reservoirs 23:115–118 + 157, 2016 [5]). Through the reservoir engineering optimization study, various combinations of vertical wells and horizontal wells are designed for the replacement development method of late stage of cyclic steam injection, and the suitable geological conditions of the reservoir and the timing of the conversion method are clarified (Li in J Shengli CollChina Univ Pet 29(03):11–13 + 18, 2015 [6]; Kang et al. in Pract Underst Math 45(12):148–153, 2015 [7]). Pilot test was carried out in K reservoir, and the recovery ratio was expected to increase from 20 to 25% in the cyclic steam injection stage to 35%–40%. It provides reference experience for the development of similar reservoirs at home and abroad.
