Chapter 2 diagnoses the condition of critique and its ability to intervene in the crisis of university. It starts from the premise that in the contemporary conjuncture we witness a paradoxical situation in which the tie between critique and crisis becomes loose as the faith in critique is gradually waning. Referring to the post-critical approach and the argument against critique made by Bruno Latour, Chap. 2 sees the origin of the state of affairs in the reduction of critique to its negative aspects. As a result, the critique is unable to generate affirmative aspects capable of transcending the status quo. Rather than rejecting critique, however, Chap. 2 argues that it needs to be renewed by linking its negative and affirmative aspects together. Only an integral critique understood in this way will be able not only to diagnose the sources of the university crisis, but also help us to ultimately transcend it.

摘要
