With the exponential demand for colorful and aesthetic clothing, textile printing has revolutionized the industry in so many ways. It has continuously developed with integration of different innovative techniques and machinery. A significant shift happened from the conventional printing process to the modern systems toward sustainability, automation, and customization with the variation of the products. It has significantly transformed traditional printing methods. Advanced printing technology can make better-quality designs with high precision and durability, reduced resource consumption, and minimal environmental impact. Also, the chemicals used for the printing are mostly environment-friendly in terms of pollution, energy-intensive production, and health risks. Printing technology has advanced printing techniques like inkjet, heat transfer, and screen printing, showing improved efficiency, reproducibility, and large-scale production. This chapter discussed the recent innovations in textile printing with the most focus on the transition to digital and modern-day practices in natural and synthetic textiles. It also highlighted these innovations’ limitations and future aspects that must be addressed.

摘要
