The New Frontier of Business Growth Through Crowdsourcing

This research work aims at understanding the concept of Crowdsourcing as a Service (CaaS) which taps into the massive crowds’ intelligence and expertise to address various challenges, create solutions, and drive improvements at a faster pace. This work’s objective will be to establish the factors influencing the uptake of CaaS; success factors and constraints; and the effects of CaaS on business performance. It provides guidelines that managers can use when implementing this model for their business. The study is relevant since limited literature reviews the impact on the profit line in light of shifting corporate environments, concerning CaaS. This work also examines the current use of CaaS, the process of deployment of CaaS, and the components of CaaS which will comprise of the crowdsourcer, the crowd, incentives, the methods of task design, the task manager, the method of evaluation, and the platform. The paper provides recommendations which could be of great value to the businesses who have to decide if and how to implement CaaS because with its help businesses can achieve multiple goals starting from the reduction of costs and improvement of efficiency, up to the stimulation of creativity and organizational adaptability.
