In this paper we present a novelty for pet owners—the automated pet feeder with integrated medicine dispensing system (APFIMDS). Pet owners often struggle with strict feeding schedules and maintaining a consistent medication plan for their pets, but the APFIMDS may be able to assist. It comes with some advanced features such as portion control, feeding schedule customisation and a communication system with a prescription delivery module. Using an interface that is very intuitive and easy to navigate by way of an app or web browser, pet owners can rapidly set their pet’s feeding schedule and portions. Additionally, the integrated system still consists of a medicine distribution system that provides appropriate and accurate dosage medicines at the right time for dogs. The APFIMDS sensor checks the pet presence in feeding so that it is impossible to overfeed any pet and ensures feeding the required portion of food for each pet. Also the device is able to monitor a pet remotely. This allows pet owners to track their pet’s food and medicine intake in real-time, giving them peace of mind and encouraging them to adhere more strictly to treatment plans.
