This study aimed to analyze recent developments in the use of water hyacinth fiber-reinforced composites through a bibliometric approach. Literature data were obtained from the Scopus database using the search terms “composite,” “natural fiber,” and “water hyacinth,” covering publications from 2007 to December 2022. Bibliometric analysis was conducted using VOSviewer and R Studio software, identifying a total of 328 research entries from 166 sources involving 1,088 authors. The analysis revealed a significant growth in publications related to this topic, with Malaysia being the leading country in research, followed by India and Thailand. Keyword analysis highlighted that terms such as “tensile strength” and “reinforcement” were frequently used, while “water absorption” and “hybrid composites” gained prominence in recent years. The data indicated that research on water hyacinth fiber-reinforced composites had progressed beyond the pioneering stage and was approaching steady growth, suggesting substantial potential for further research and industrial applications. This study also aimed to contribute to the sustainable management of water hyacinth by utilizing it as a reinforcing material in environmentally friendly composites.
