Electronic wastes are emerging pollution problems in nowadays global context. Countries such as the USA, Canada, Europe, and India receive thousands of tons of e-waste from the various countryside. The electronic industry (in developing countries) will be advancing with the rapid speed manufacturing industry in terms of supply and demand based on the lifespan of materials. E-waste consists of several issues that directly and indirectly harm human as well as ecological health. Mining is the only source of metals, which pollutes almost all natural resources. Recycling and recovery of metals from electronic waste can be second wide source of metals. Moreover, electronic waste recycling is attractive because of the presence of precious metals (PMs) economically and commercially. Recovery of valuable metals will accelerate the economy as well as a healthy environment. This chapter offers an extensive summary of e-waste, issues involved, composition, sources, relevant regulations and laws from an Indian perspective, government initiatives, analysis of traditional and innovative alternative methods of metal recovery, and their importance in the management strategy. It focuses on tools and technological approaches for recycling and recovering metals from the following wastes. Mechanical techniques of metal recovery are followed by metallurgical and absorption processes. The chapter concerns the delimitation of the frontiers or boundaries of e-waste recycling. It describes the importance of global-level scientific initiatives to evaluate e-waste management quantitatively and qualitatively. The use of different commercial eradicators for metal recovery was examined thoroughly.
