Pulmonary Embolism in Ischemic Stroke
摘要
Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability, with medical complications after ischemic stroke significantly contributing to poor outcomes. One of these complications is pulmonary embolism (PE), which is a serious medical condition with an annual incidence rate of 0.50–0.69 per 1000 persons in the general population. More recently, thromboprophylaxis has become a quality measure in acute stroke, which includes the use of unfractionated heparin (UFH) and low-molecular-weight heparin (LMWH).
