Following the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC), patients resuscitated from cardiac arrests are often in a critical condition, with a high chance of experiencing another episode. In this context, these patients also exhibit both electrical and hemodynamic instability. Therefore, the initial phase of post-resuscitation treatment typically focuses on implementing damage control measures and preserving organ function to prevent further damage, particularly brain injury, caused by inadequate blood flow. In this case report, an 80-year-old male patient presented to the hospital with a chief complaint of breathing difficulty. A diagnosis of septic shock and multiorgan dysfunction syndrome (MODS) was later established due to severe community-acquired pneumonia (CAP), anemia, hyperglycemia, and malnutrition based on the initial clinical and laboratory findings. During hospitalization, the patient experienced ROSC seven times post-cardiac arrests and was declared dead.

摘要
