Pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) is a significant health concern, affecting several individuals around the world. The condition has long been associated with opportunistic fungal infections, which can prove lethal when not detected in the early stages. Building on this idea, tuberculosis (TB) patients are often immunocompromised, and the association with infections exacerbates their condition. In this case report, a 72-year-old male patient presented to the hospital with a chief complaint of shortness of breath and was later diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis. Despite the administration of antituberculosis medications, the symptoms persisted. After re-evaluation, the culture of the lung tissue showed the presence of Aspergillus niger, leading to the additional administration of antifungal drugs. After all the treatment was completed, the patient was finally relieved from the breathing symptoms.
