Lung cancer is a type of malignant tumor with rapid progression and poor prognosis. In this context, distant metastasis, especially in the bone, has been reported to be the main cause of mortality among affected patients. Several studies have also shown that approximately 30–40% of patients with advanced lung cancer often develop bone metastases in the course of the disease. These complications typically have clinical consequences, including bone pain, pathological fractures, spinal instability, spinal cord compression, and hypercalcemia. Given the severity of bone metastasis in lung cancer, it is necessary to understand the mechanism through which lung cancer spreads to the bone, the diagnostic method, and possible treatment options. In this case report, positron emission tomography (PET)-scan imaging and bronchoscopy with the rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) method were used to confirm the diagnosis.
