In 1991, Sumio Iijima successfully prepared carbon nanotubes by arc evaporation. The diameter of the carbon nanotubes is about tens of nanometers, and the length is at the micron level. This research announced the birth of one-dimensional nanomaterials. Subsequent research followed up, and more and more one-dimensional nanomaterials were gradually discovered. In addition to nanotubes, researchers also prepared a series of one-dimensional nanomaterials such as nanowires, nanorods, and nanobelts. Due to their ultra-high specific surface area and unique optical and electrical properties, one-dimensional nanomaterials can be widely used in biosensors, environmental protection, safety monitoring, and other sensor devices.
