The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly posed significant challenges to the education sector worldwide, including Indonesia. Schools have had to rapidly adapt to changing conditions, particularly through the implementation of remote learning and strict health protocols. School leadership plays a crucial role in ensuring the effective functioning of educational institutions during this crisis, especially in the context of schools that integrate religious values into their management. However, little is known about how principals implement certain leadership styles during a crisis. The exposition is generated from qualitative empirical data, collected through in-depth interviews with five Muslim elementary school principals, particularly in the Indonesian context.
