Hydrogen is anticipated to play a pivotal role in achieving goals for a low-carbon mobility future. However, the success of transitioning to a hydrogen economy hinges on well-designed supply chains with appropriate suppliers. This study delves into assessing the supplier hierarchy within the Indian context, considering the obstacles facing the hydrogen fuel cell supply chain. Through extensive literature review, the study identifies four main and twenty-three sub-challenges for evaluating hydrogen fuel cell suppliers. To analyze these suppliers, a novel prospect theory-based decision-making structure has been presented. Within the proposed approach, the linguistic uncertainties have been modeled using proportional picture fuzzy sets. Information is consolidated using proportional picture fuzzy weighted geometric (PPFWG) operator. Supplier 5 (S5) emerged as top-ranked through the proposed approach. Managerial implications of the proposed approach can aid the managers and policymakers to carry out informed decisions regarding the selection of suppliers.
