In this article, the characteristics and controlling factors of high moisture content tight sandstone gas reservoirs in He 8 and Shan 1 stratums in the Maogaitu area of the Erdorth Basin. Are investigated through core observation, cast sheet observation, scanning electron microscope analysis, and high pressure hydrargyrum intrusion testing in this study. The findings is: (1) The predominant reservoir rock molds in the study area’s He 8 stratum consist of quartz malmstone and debris quartz malmstone, while debris quartz malmstone is primarily observed in the Shan 1 stratum. Reservoir rocks are sub-angular-sub-circular, with comparatively crude rock particle size and moderate deviation in sorting, mainly composed of moderate pimpling malmstone and gravel-bearing pimpling malmstone. (2) Dissolution and fracture are the matter constructive diagenesis in survey region, the compaction process is considered to be the predominant form of destructive diagenesis in survey region. The He 8 and Shaan 1 stratums have overall deviated pore structures. According to the distribution shape of the hydrargyrum capillary-pressure curve and the related arguments of the porous texture, the porous texture of the reservoir stratum is now divided into 4 categories. (3) The controlling factors of high moisture content tight sandstone arguments are mainly divided into three aspects: control of rock type, control of diagenesis and control of micro-fractures. The findings play a crucial role in enhancing the comprehension of high moisture content tight sandstone gas arguments in the West Surliger area, while simultaneously offering skill support for the uninterrupted and tranquil production of gas fields. Moreover, they possess significant implications and references for the exploitation of similar gas fields.
