This chapter examined the principles and practices of sustainable construction management, offering a comprehensive overview of how sustainability is integrated across all phases of construction projects. Positioned at the convergence of environmental responsibility, social equity, and economic viability, sustainable construction management redefines traditional project delivery by embedding sustainability into planning, design, execution, and post-construction evaluation. The chapter introduces key strategies such as the use of sustainable materials, energy-efficient technologies, and waste minimisation practices. It also outlines performance monitoring techniques like life cycle assessments, which are essential for tracking environmental impacts and improving project outcomes. Emphasising a holistic approach, the chapter discusses how construction stakeholders can adopt innovative and ethical methods to ensure that each project contributes positively to both society and the environment. By exploring techniques for evaluating and enhancing sustainability performance, this chapter equips professionals with the knowledge to benchmark projects against sustainability goals. Ultimately, the chapter promotes a paradigm shift in construction management by moving from short-term gains to long-term resilience, which advocates for a future in which construction serves as a driver for sustainable development and social advancement.
