In India, the vehicle population has massively increased due to rapid population growth along with urbanization and improved living condition. For many citizens of Maharashtra, Pune is preferred destination for work, education, healthcare, real estate investment and better quality of life. City is growing both horizontally and vertically to meet a growing population and related activities. This high rate of urbanized and industrialized urban fabric demanded mobility which cities could neither provide public transportation nor the infrastructure efficiently. It could prompt difficult issue of traffic particularly in intersections or junctions to cross during peak hours, which leads to delays, inconvenience and congestions. This study helps us to understand traffic movement and issues along a route. Shivajinagar is the city center of Pune. Pune University Junction is regarded as a study location. Pune University junction is an important junction in Shivajinagar that connects the main central city to the suburbs. It is a multi-leg junction having very high traffic flow. To discover the appropriate traffic pattern and solution, have to consider the congestion on all approaches to an intersection. The purpose of a delay study is for assessing the source, duration, and frequency of delays, as well as the overall travel and running pace. A road inventory survey is carried out in order to develop a better understanding of the junction. The study utilizes traffic data collected through video recording to identify traffic patterns and traffic volume. The data is analyzed and the results of the study provide valuable insights into traffic flow patterns and help in identifying potential solution related to traffic congestion.
