A Review of the Development of All-Electronic Terahertz Communication Technology Based on Amplitude Shift Keying
摘要
With the maturity of 5th Generation Mobile Communication Technology (5G), the research and development of 6th Generation Mobile Communication Technology (6G) is accelerating, and it is expected to be commercially available by 2030. 6G will offer higher data transmission rates, lower latency, and higher regional traffic density. Terahertz (THz) communication technology, as one of the key technologies of 6G, has attracted much attention due to its high communication rate and abundant bandwidth resources. All-electronic terahertz communication systems utilize radio frequency sources and electronic devices to generate terahertz radiation, offering advantages such as ease of integration, high emission power, and long-distance transmission capabilities. Amplitude Shift Keying (ASK) modulation holds an important position in terahertz communication due to its simplicity and low cost. This article outlines the principles and implementation methods of ASK modulation, reviews its application in all-electronic terahertz communication systems, and discusses the role of semiconductor device technology in enhancing system performance. Finally, it provides a perspective on the future development of all-electronic terahertz communication technology based on ASK modulation, highlighting the challenges and application prospects faced.
