Radiological imaging is the most important diagnostic tool in the contemporary world. In the field of oncology, imaging is the cornerstone of patient management and care. It plays an important diagnostic role and helps to stage the disease, know the tumour extent, prognosticate the disease, gauge the therapeutic response, and assess for any recurrence during follow-ups. However, radiological imaging has unique challenges, especially in the paediatric population. Children are more susceptible to the risks of ionizing radiations given the higher radiosensitivity of growing organs and their longer expected life spans, thus emphasizing the need for ALARA (As low as reasonably achievable). The other primary concern in the paediatric population is the need for immobilization and sedation, mainly for prolonged procedures, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or interventions. The lack of dedicated paediatric imaging centres and trained paediatric radiologists further aggravates the problem. The present chapter deals with the basics of technical considerations in paediatric imaging and imaging aspects in common solid paediatric tumors, i.e., Wilms Tumor, Neuroblastoma, and Hepatoblastoma.
