Mini-Lifting
摘要
The desire to maintain a youthful appearance has long been a reality, and the demand for cosmeceutical products has dramatically increased. For centuries, the aspiration for human beauty has existed, as evidenced by the story of Cleopatra bathing in fresh milk to keep her skin looking young [1]. Recently, with advancements in science, more evidence-based antiaging methods have been introduced. Surgical techniques for facelifts have also evolved, beginning with the removal of loose skin through subcutaneous tissue lifting [2]. Knowledge of facial anatomy has improved, leading to a better understanding of the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS) [3]. Various studies on facial retaining ligaments have shown that releasing these ligaments can yield greater lifting effects [4]. While more invasive techniques have been proposed to achieve larger lifting effects, increased invasiveness often leads to greater patient anxiety [5]. Consequently, less invasive methods have been developed in recent years. Ultimately, achieving minimal invasiveness with maximum effect has become a crucial factor. Although several studies have been conducted on short scar rhytidectomy to reduce scarring and complication risks, these surgical techniques are still perceived as invasive lifting procedures from the patient’s perspective [6].
