Most MRI machines have preloaded vendor-driven protocols. These protocols are often adequate. However, the application specialist will tweak the protocols and add some additional sequences as per the need and preference of the MRI radiologist. The in-house technical team can also change the protocols whenever needed. The equipment allows such modifications. Most MRI sequences are often similar across institutions. The vendor-specific abbreviations and acronyms may differ. Outlined in this chapter, are some of the commonly used sequences which are usually sufficient to provide the required information based on the clinical situation. The protocols are listed by anatomy as well as by clinical scenario.
