During the course of posting in the CT department, residents and trainees will keep hearing some commonly used words, acronyms and abbreviations (Silverman PM et al., Am J Roentgenol 176, 1135–1136, 2001). In this chapter, the meaning of some of these terms will be explained. (The meaning of many of the terms is already explained in the previous chapters, also). After reading this chapter, hopefully, the student will not feel out of place in their initial days of CT training.
