In order to conduct a scientific and rational assessment of the power quality (PQ) of the electrified railway traction power supply system, a comprehensive PQ assessment method is put forward. Based on the operation data and corresponding standards of the electrified railway's power quality, several PQ assessment indexes are selected from two significant nodes within the power supply system, which are situated at the grid connection side of the traction transformer and at the pantograph respectively. A comprehensive assessment approach that combines the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and the entropy weight method is adopted to determine the initial value of the weight distribution for each PQ assessment index. Subsequently, by taking the operation data of an electrified railway as an example, the final PQ assessment results of the electrified railway can be obtained.
