This research accords towards the empowerment of women-preneurs, particularly housewives, especially in the circumstances faced with limited access to job opportunities from the home-working setting. The study is informed by secondary and primary research through contextual-user interviews and analysis-synthesis of the data to identify the challenges from the field. The inferences are interpolated into a design intervention by strategizing, revoking the problem space, and addressing the real-time challenges to assess and develop an application that bridges the gaps by expanding the reach of products, services, and networking needs for the home-reneurs while operating from the home-environments. ‘SIDDHA’ (Supporting and Inspiring Digital Housewives’ Associations) is devised as the application-based digital platform that helps connect the enterprising ‘working from home’ women with potential customers, offers their unique tailored services to the niche buyers, considers unique business aspects, and provides a platform for showcasing and marketing-selling products/services rendered professionally in the ‘home-working space’. This digitally supportive ecosystem for ‘work-from-home-entrepreneurial women’ is to achieve economic independence, can contribute to the local economy, and create employment opportunities. SIDDHA has been initiated to effectively address limited opportunities and help leverage technology to develop professionally through the limitations of home workspace, allowing entrepreneurial aspirations through access and opportunity to thrive.

摘要
