New Material Design for Daily Necessities by Renewable Resin of Composite
摘要
The purpose of this study was to investigate efficacy of lacquer application on polylactic acid stir stick instead of plastic stir stick maker. Prototype stick maker renewable resin from jute and polylactic was width 2 mm, length 180 mm and weight 0.7 g. The amount of thin coating lacquer applied was 0.75 g. The two different prototype muddlers were operated by stirring the each for 3 min as the endurance tests in an experimental water bath 70 degrees Celsius as same as coffee. There were no observed external cracking or dissolved conditions on the lacquer-applied muddlers during dipped in 70 °C warm water for 3 min. However, it was found polylactic dissolved, then jute fibers were visible. It was not possible reuse without thin coating lacquer. Composite materials made from jute fiber and polylactic acid had a weakness in water and moisture. Therefore, it was fragile and easily crumbled by moisture and hand sweet.
