Optimal Parameters for the Regular Interaction of a Shock Wave Striking a Rigid Plane Wall

This paper deals with the aerodynamic optimization of oblique shock waves. Two optimization tasks are formulated and solved. Classical relations for flow parameters on shock waves are used to describe physical processes. Limits of the parameters are derived. The criterion for the optimum value is a minimum increase in overall specific entropy. The relations for the optimal parameters are derived a single oblique shock wave. The results of the optimization task, dealing with the regular interaction when an oblique shock wave strikes a rigid plane wall are obtained by means of an iterative numerical procedure. The results are presented in diagrams of aerodynamic parameters.
