Propagation of Spherical Shock Wave and Its Interactions with Particles
摘要
Interactions between shock wave and solid particles are studied. Shock waves and supersonic flows are generated using a shock tube with open end driven-section, and solid particles are placed in the flow field to study the interactions. Shock wave propagation and particle motions are captured using the shadowgraph technique with a high speed camera, and the particle velocities are calculated from the captured images. In each test condition a large variation of the particle speeds is observed, and the particle speeds are significantly slower than the flow speed estimated theoretically from the shock tube initial pressure ratio.
