The use of technologies in healthcare is essential to improve the quality of life of patients and optimize the management of chronic diseases. This article proposes the development of a mobile application for Android focused on patients with type II diabetes mellitus that allows treating physicians to record medication and the times at which it should be taken, in addition to informing whether it should be taken with food. The application connects in real time with a database and generates notifications 10 min before and after the established schedule. Physicians can view adherence tracking reports and schedule medical appointments. Using Extreme Programming (XP) methodology for the efficient development of the app and the Morisky scale to assess adherence, it was observed that adherence improved significantly after the implementation of the app. The mobile application facilitates medication control and monitoring, significantly improving adherence to treatment and long-term health outcomes.

摘要
