The stator-magnet limited-angle torque motor (SMLATM) with stator slotted structure has higher torque density. However, the slotted structure will increase the torque ripple of the motor and affect the performance of the motor. Therefore, an uneven-permanent magnet (PM) topology is proposed to suppress the torque ripple. Based on the finite element analysis (FEA), the model of SMLATM is established and the response surface of the SMLATM is analyzed. The influence mechanism of the uneven-PM on the torque is revealed. Then, a multi-objective optimization model of the SMLATM is established, and the optimal parameters of the uneven-PM are obtained. The torque ripple of the SMLATM with uneven-PM is reduced by 23.4% compared to the SMLATM with even-PM. Finally, the theoretical analysis results are verified by prototype tests, and the test results are consistent with the finite element method.

The stator-magnet limited-angle torque motor (SMLATM) with stator slotted structure has higher torque density.
