As the basic industry of the national economy, the electric power industry plays a vital role in the development of the national economy. This study aims to gain a deeper understanding of the relationship between regional economy and energy use, as well as the performance of different industrial sectors, by analyzing the total electricity consumption, power consumption intensity and prosperity index of various industries in Guangxi. We found that the total electricity consumption (EC) in Guangxi increased year by year, while the power intensity decreased year by year, which reflects that the utilization of power resources has achieved certain results. In addition, research on the prosperity index of various industries shows that there are clear differences between different industries, which provides an important reference for investment decisions.
