Residual Stresses and Local Instability of Double-Sided Stainless-Clad Bimetallic Steel Angle Section Stub Columns Under Axial Compression
摘要
This study presents a comprehensive investigation of double-sided stainless-clad bimetallic steel angle section stub columns subjected to axial compression. In addition to the local buckling behaviour of the examined specimens, mechanical characteristics of material properties and residual stresses were determined through tensile coupon and sectioning tests. Residual stresses in both membrane and bending types were measured and recorded and their impact on structural behavior was evaluated. Initial local geometric imperfection measurements and concentric compression tests were conducted for all specimens.
