Evaluation of Passive and Active Bus Priority Signal Performance at Mixed Traffic Signalized Intersection
摘要
Motor vehicle exhaust emissions are contributing to the worsening impact of climate change. In response, the Indonesian government is implementing measures to mitigate these emissions, including the development of green infrastructure and technology within the public transport sector. Implementing a bus priority signal system is considered a promising solution to optimize public transport services. This system prioritizes public transport vehicles at signalized intersections, aiming to enhance service reliability by ensuring smoother passage through traffic signals. The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of passive and active bus priority signal strategies at signalized intersections with mixed traffic conditions. This assessment will be conducted using VISSIM micro-simulation. The simulation results show that the effectiveness of the bus priority signal is affected by various factors, including the number of phases and traffic movements, as well as the frequency of bus services.
