Greenhouse Gas Emission Calculation Program for Flexible Pavement Maintenance and Rehabilitation Project

The growth in the construction sector will drive the growth of other sectors as well as boost up other developments. However, this growth also contributes to energy consumption and produces greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. One of the construction activities that generates significantly huge greenhouse gas emissions is road construction. Therefore, an analysis of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions is carried out in the maintenance and rehabilitation project of flexible pavements of local roads. To streamline the process, the analysis will be computed in the form of a calculation program. The analysis will be faster and more effective. The analysis program is designed using Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 with the C # programming language. The analysis uses a systematic method and uses the LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) approach. The calculation uses the ecoinvent database with TRACI 2.1 to convert pollutant units to kgCO2e. The eco-invent and TRACI 2.1 databases were moved into a special database on Navicat Premium to simplify the calculation process in the program. Applications are made with the simplest GUI or graphical user interface. The application program is used to calculate greenhouse gas emissions in the maintenance and rehabilitation projects of flexible pavement. The application program can be carried out to analyze the greenhouse gas emissions not only for maintenance and rehabilitation projects, but also for new construction projects of flexible pavement.
