Accidents are unexpected and unintentional events involving vehicles, vehicle users, and other road users that can result in human casualties and/or property damage. In Indonesia, accidents often involve motorcycles, especially among young drivers, as they are more prone to traffic violations. Motorcycle accidents in Indonesia most frequently occur in East Java province. Jember is one of the regencies in East Java with a total of 913,978 motorcycles, and it has a significant number of young people. The high number of young people in Jember is due to the presence of three public universities, four private universities, and several other higher education institutions, leading to an increase in the youth population in Jember due to migration. The aim of this research is to analyze the probability of motorcycle accidents, among young people in the Jember Regency based on rider characteristics. The research method used is binary logistic regression with a significance level of 5%. The respondents’ data was obtained through a survey by distributing questionnaires to motorcycle riders in Jember Regency aged up to 24 years old. The results of the study indicate that rider characteristics that influence accidents are gender and driver’s license ownership. Males are 2.732 times more likely to have an accident compared to females, with a 53.59% probability of an accident. Additionally, individuals without a driver’s license are 3.157 times more likely to have an accident compared to those with a driver’s license type C and type A/B, with a 57.15% probability of an accident.
