Development of a Quantitative Scale for the Impact of Quality Risk on Construction Projects

The success of a construction project is generally measured by the achievement of cost, time, and quality performance variables in an integrated manner (triple constraints). These performance variables carry risks. Anticipating risks in project implementation can be done by allocating contingency costs. Contingency costs can be estimated by using a quantitative risk analysis method, namely the Expected Monetary Value (EMV) method. EMV is determined using a quantitative risk impact scale, which is then formulated in monetary units. Current project cost contingencies are limited to the integration of cost and time risks. This paper aims to analyze the quality risk scale quantitatively so that it can be used as an approach to estimate contingency costs due to quality risk or integrated risk aspects of cost, time, and quality by the project team. The descriptive method was used in this research. A level five Likert scale was used for the quantitative scale. The results obtained are an increase in costs of 4.57% for very low risk up to 18.01% for very high risk.
