This paper explores a solution for the surge in Internet of Things (IoT) devices by proposing the use of adaptive Software-Defined Networking (SDN). The objective is to implement an efficient load-balancing strategy in an IoT network, with a focus on optimizing resource utilization. The proposed system uses an agent-based approach, employing Mininet-WiFi for network infrastructure, Ryu Controller as the SDN controller, and Redis to facilitate inter-system communication. The proposed load-balancing algorithm is installed in the edge device for efficient network performance. The proposed method is tested in a testbed setup. The performance of the system was evaluated based on metrics such as Round-Trip Time (RTT), Throughput, Latency, and Packet Loss. The results indicate that the proposed system with an agent-based technique can be used to achieve a highly scalable network by distributing the load among the networking entities in a dynamic network such as an SDN-based IoT network

摘要
