MEMS in Twenty-First-Century Healthcare
摘要
In the twenty-first century, Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) have emerged as transformative technologies with profound implications for healthcare. These miniature devices, operating at the micro scale, offer unprecedented capabilities in monitoring, diagnosing, and treating medical conditions. This chapter delves into the multifaceted integration of MEMS in healthcare, highlighting their roles in wearables, biosensors, lab-on-a-chip devices, organ-on-a-chip devices, and artificial implants, thereby facilitating personalized medicine and remote patient monitoring. By enabling real-time data collection, enhancing precision in interventions, and enabling novel therapeutic approaches, MEMS are reshaping the landscape of healthcare, promising more effective and patient-centric outcomes. This chapter discusses different types of MEMS devices and the opportunities presented by these cutting-edge technologies.
