Modularity and Feasible Installation

Modularity is advantageous in construction. The creation of prefabricated modules in controlled factory environments improves quality, accelerates installation, and enables scalability. These benefits are particularly amplified in floating construction, where building on water presents unique technical requirements. The importance of modularity has been proven in projects such as in the floating Seal Basin, Bluet’s Multiuse platform (product), Vök Baths, Lake Como floating infinity pool and Jubileumsparken, and the Allas Pool. The Korkeasaari Zoo “seal basin” is a unique multi-purpose floating pool, originally designed for the Saimaa ringed seal. The design of the floating basin had to consider the needs of the animal and visitors, the construction site, special requirements of floating construction, and landscaping. Various options were studied with crane and cargo companies and finally the best solution was to use heavy-duty barge modules, which could be transported to the site by truck and lifted by crane to be assembled on water. When developing the Bluet Multiuse Platform in 2019, similar challenges were encountered. This platform comprises modules which can be connected end-to-end, side-to-side, or end-to-side. The versatility of these modules allows for the creation of floating event platforms, music stages, pop-up restaurants, temporary walkways, and construction platforms. The modular design allows transportation via trucks, even to remote inland locations like lakes. Furthermore, assembly and disassembly are quick and simple. The Allas Sea Pool is part of an urban spa and event center with a large floating foundation. The complicated structure was built with modules. Recognizing the importance of modularity in floating construction, Bluet consistently prioritizes modularity in its solutions, ensuring that products are optimized for transportation and feasible, time efficient installation.
