This paper is the result of an experiment on a model aimed at reducing the response of a floating body to waves. A feature of the floating model is that a weight is hung from the bottom with a wire. The response reduction system of this floating model was inspired by oyster farming rafts. The experiments included fluid-coupled free vibration experiments, wave response experiments using regular waves, and irregular wave response experiments caused by wind. The floating model varied the type, shape, and hanging position of the weights. The frequency response function is obtained from the experimental results, and the reduction of the response is considered.
